Ah, ‘golden thread’ of Justice! Noble claim,
That brightly-robed presumption: “innocent,
’till proved his guilt shall be” – our burning flame,
the torch held high in dark predicament.
From Bailey down to Whitehall beams that light:
A Common Law: a fair and just decree.
God’s Trinity gave England her delight.
Let Man rejoice, and bend the thankful knee.
Though by that Crown I swear, I cannot say
My vesture is of hope and glory’s land;
but children still will keep the Mother’s Way,
for soul provides, if bloodline lacks the brand.
Despite the cries of “progress”, we must hold
our Ancient Law of Liberty – so bold!
